Dr. Drinker specializes in joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery and shoulder care. Dr. Drinker is skilled in minimal incision and tissue-sparing surgical techniques for total knee and hip replacement.
Dr. Drinker has practiced in Northampton as a general Orthopedist, specializing in joint replacement and being instrumental in the development of the Total Joint Program at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. He serves as the clinical director of the Total Joint Center, the first such unit in the state. In addition to his specialization in joint replacement, Dr. Drinker’s interests include shoulder problems and arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, knee and small joints. Dr. Drinker has served as the president of the Hampshire County district of the Massachusetts Medical Society, of which he is a member, and of the Northeast Medical Association. Other professional memberships include the Mass Orthopedic Society, the Orthopedic Research Society, Abbott Society and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is widely published in the orthopedic literature as a primary author of a number of articles pertaining primarily to joint replacement, a field upon which he has lectured around the country.
